4:30 P. M. AUGUST 16, 1982
Present were Mayor McDowell, Committee Chairman Grainger, Councilmen Palmer,
Vidal, Ruiz, O'Boyle, Nystul and Saverud and Police Chief Stefanie.
Chairman Grainger presided. Discussed was promotion of a sergeant in the Police
Department. Councilmen stated that they were not going to fill the position of
sergeant due to the fact that there are too many rated personnel for the number
of employees in the department. By unanimous vote, the council decided that
effective August 16, 1982 the patrolman that is acting sergeant will no longer
receive sergeant's pay. The position eliminated is detective sergeant left
vacant when Sgt. Dale Gifford retired on medical disability.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
