01-04-88 Parks Comm MinutesParks Committee
January 4, 1988
The meeting was held at 4:00 pm and attended by Chairman Manning, Council
Members Nystul and Robinson, Ken Bauska and Don Halver.
1. Outdoor Advertising Ordinance
The Committee discussed the wording of Paragraph D., and decided to recommend
changing the wording so that for applications for displays lasting over 90
days, the Parks Committee shall request and receive comments from the
Hockaday Board and the Architectural Review Committee of the Community
Development Department.
2. Golf Course Lease
The Committee requested a breakdown of the Golf Course share of City
Insurance. Clerk/Treasurer Halver said he could probably get Fire Insurance
figures but the Liability Insurance value could not be determined.
Chairman Manning suggested extending the existing lease until it is
determined what the expansion plans of the Golf Course will be. A good legal
description needs to be included in the new lease.
Councilman Nystul said the present lease does not require approval by the
city of any work done at the golf course.
The committee agreed to recommend tabling Council action, give the Golf
Association notice that the lease will be rewritten, and have the City
Attorney review and rewrite the lease.
3. Tree Pruning Progress
Ken Bauska reported they are now working on North Main, Third Avenue East is
all done. They could work on some more demonstration areas.
The work requiring a taller boom truck is being held until later in the
Winter with the plan being to get it all done in one month with a rented
truck.
