01-02-87 Parks Comm MinutesPARKS COIVITTEE MEETIIG January 2, 1987 • The breakfast meeting was held at the Legacy P.estaurant at 7:00 A. H. Those attending were Chairman Donning, Committee members Nystul and Palmer and Parks Director Pieter Drent. The following items were discussed: Six rebuilt antique benches from 4doodland Park are to be put in Depot Park and replaced with ordinary benches at Woodland. Sidewalks are to be installed along the curb in the parking lot on the east side of the park. Parks Director Drent will be requesting quotations from electrical contractors for the installation of lights and plug -ins at the band stand. The strip between the .sidewalk and curb along Main Street is to be gravelled. Loving the Hockaday Art Show from Courthouse Par}: to Depot Park was discussed, as well as the placement of a plaque or sign in the park recognizing the donation of Burlington Northern and the efforts of the i?omebuilders Association. LYONS PAPK RESI'ROOVIS J Rehabilitation, access for the handicapped and financing such a project were discussed without reaching any solutions. Drent will be contacting the Charber of Commerce and the handicapped organization. • 91IMING POOL CONCESSION The following changes will be made in the proposed agreement with the K.A.T.S. organization: (1). Hours of operation to be set in accordance with pool operation and the pool manager. (2). The amount of liability insurance is to be set. (3). The pool manager is to approve food items to be sold. O' NEIL SUBDIVISION The proposed donation of parkland along Woodland Avenue, bordering the drainage from Woodland Park was discussed. Obtaining an access from the proposed subdivision to the land donation was suggested. NON-D_ISCRIDIINATION STATEMENT: PARK RESERVATION APPLICATIONS & AGPEEPIMUS Changes in the proposed resolution will be taken up with City Attorney Neier. A non-discrimination statement to be included in all park reservation applications and agreements with users of City facilities. 0 PEE WEE BA.BEBAU The status of the land trade with School District 85 and the need to come to an agreement with the Pee ;-Tee organization regarding the development of their new cosplex on South Woodland Avenue were discussed. WOODULT,D PP.Ru Parks Director Drent will contact the Burlington Northern regarding the deterioration of their storm drain system into Woodland Park and the lack of an easement or agreement for the maintenance of that system.
