TO M HONORA.MLM MYOR AND CITY COUNCIL -
CMLDEW:
Pieter reported that he had talked with Ron. Aasheim about the status of the BOR funding.'.
for Dry Bridge Park. He stressed the importance"of determining what, if anything, we'-
plan to do. After some discussion about the City's potential legal liabilities and a
report that the Health Department consi eyed the area. a health -hazard, the Committee
decided to recommend to the Council that we -authorize an engineering study to be done
to determineow we might es improve or correct therainage pro ems in t at area.
It was also suggested that'Paul Palmer investigate the possibility of annexing this area
to the City.
Pieter reported on the current status of the swimming pool. It has been pumped dry.
.Some surface has come loose and some has not. Sandblasting has been ineffective and
inefficient. It will cost about $1',500 to pay for paint. If we leave it unpainted, we
will need to drain and clean the pool several times over the summer to prevent algae
build-up. it was decided to discuss with the Council whether it is even feasible to'
open the pool this.se_ason. If we do, it was recommended that the wages for pool per-"-
sonnel be set at the same levels as they were last season because of bud et constraints.
The summer tennis program was then discussed. It was decided that Gayle and Pieter
would meet with Ken Rupp to outline the program and discuss tennis fees to be charged.
Ken Rupp's salary,aa manager of the program, will also be determined and recommended
back to the Parks Committee.
Landscaping ideas for City Hall were "then discussed. Several people were not pleased
with the workings of the fountain. It was suggested that the fountain area might bQ.
filled with plants. Pieter was asked to develo 'a plan he could recommend to the j
Committee.
