02-02-90 Finance Comm MinutesFINANCE/PERSONNEL & POLICY/INSURANCE 8:15 AM FEBRUARY 2. 1990 • The meeting was attended by Council persons Nystul, Atkinson, Larson. Mayor Hopkins, Ted Waggoner, Craig Kerzman and Amy Robertson 1) CEU - Committee recommended the Mayor converse with Mike Hall the ASFCME representative concerning the possibility of a buyout of the CEUs. The committee also recommended the Mayor work on a policy regarding CEUs. 2) Firefighter contract - The Committee announced that it was time to consider how they wanted to negotiate with the Firefighters Union. The committee felt that the rest of the council needs to be involved. 3) Reinstatement of Fire Chiefs on Ambulance - City Attorney's opinion that the firefighters union contract provides for the personnel to operate the ambulance and therefore the Chiefs should not. Discussion led to salary adjustments to be recognized in June at budget time. 4) Computer - Brief discussion on current computer problems. The water accounts receivable system on the computer is fast filling up. At some time in the near future it will be necessary to upgrade our system. We currently pay $8.856.00 per year maintenance on the main computer. We have no maintenance on any of the terminals or printers. We are limited in file size by our back up tape system. Acting clerk Robertson will look into options with the assistance of BIg Sky Data and report back to the committee. 5) Clerk/ Clerk of the Council - Acting Clerk Robertson provided the committee with a list of job duties done by the City Clerk and the City Accountant. The Mayor said he had job descriptions from other towns for the Clerk of the Council position. To be considered. 6) Approve claims AR - 1 -
