meeting was attended by Council persons Nystul, Atkinson, Larson,
Judge Willis, Bruce McEvoy representing Marty's Excavating and Flathead
Concrete, City Attorney Glen Mier and Acting Clerk Robertson.
1) Judge Willis requested that the finance committee be her contact with the
City Council. She requested permission to look into acquiring a green thumb
person to help out in her office. Both requests were granted.
2) Chet Brown final pay - Bruce McEvoy was present on behalf of Flathead Concrete
and Marty's excavating, subcontractors for Chet Brown & Sons, Inc. Claims by both
subcontractors for payments bad been received by the City attorney. Mr; McEvoy
was requesting interest on each of these claims and that the City pay the claims
out of retainage. Chet Brawn bad provided the City Clerk with checks made out to
the subcontractors in the principal amount. The conmittee decided to pay the
subcontractors' claims plus interest at the statutory rate out of the retainage
and return Chet Brown's checks to him with his final pay. Other deduction from
the retainage included work orders from the Parks dept. for landscaping in the
Eagles lot, Street dept. for sweeping and Public Works for administration. In
addition $5,200.00 for paving and Inspection will be withheld. The City will also
pay the 1% tax due to the Dept, of Revenue.
3) Bob Monk Settlement -'he City attorney received a check from Bob Monk for
$6,000 as a final settlement. Monk owes $7,005. The City declined to accept the
check as final payment but asked Attorney Mier to write and ask if the check
could be applied toward the debt.
