The meeting was attended by Mayor Kennedy, Councilmembers Nystul, Schindler and
Hopkins, Clerk/Treasurer Halver, Ross Plambeck and Craig Kerzman.
1. Salary Matrix
Committee Chairman Nystul said he did not have his proposal ready. He asked the
co wittee if they had any further questions before a draft is prepared. He
recarmended dropping the first three coltmms on the first draft and the committee
meirbeis did not object.
Councilman Nystul said the plan would not be discussed on the council floor,
discussions around the table work better.
2. Sinking Planter
Ross Blambeck reported on the situation with the sinking planter at the ReMax
Parking Lot at the corner of Main and Second Street. Fill located by the city was
donated to the project and was not compacted when placed. Options for repairing
have been explored but nothing satisfactory has been found yet.
Another meeting between FceMax and A-1 Paving is being worked on.
It appears the water used in the planters was contributing to the sinking; the
water has been shut off and the planter appears to have stabilized. Water was
also leaking into the building next door until it was shut off.
If the planter is removed then the terms of the lease would require repayment of
• the $16,000. It looks like it will cost at least $16,000 to fix the problem.
E
Councilmen Schindler says the public thinks it is a city planter and wonders why
we don't fix it.
Mayor Kennedy said he is calling a meeting to try to get something going. The
committee decided to see if action gets started after the Mayor's meeting. If not
the city will take formal action to get something done.
2. Call for Quotes - Annual Banking Contract
Clerk/Treasurer Halves reported it is time to call for quotes for the renewal.
of the banking contract. He asked if the committee wanted to change any of the.
terms.
The committee concurred to call for quotes at tonight's council meeting.
3. Committee Makeup
Mayor Kennedy reported he was splitting out the Safety Committee from the Public
Works Comaittee. They will also handle Air Quality. Councilman D1ytul suggested
Water & Sewer also become a separate catanittee, again,. Mayor Kennedy agreed that
was a good idea.
Councilman Hopkins reported Councilman Furlong has requested Annexation and Zoning
be split out of Parks. Furlong was concerned about the length of the agendas and
the amount of time people spend waiting to meet with the catrnittee.
