• The meeting was attended by committee members Saverud and Hopkins, Mayor
Kennedy and Clerk/Treasurer Halver. Councilmembers Haffesman, CA=erscn and
Atkinson were present to work on the budget.
1. Budget
Mayor Kennedy reported on the current status of the preliminary budget and
presented his recomiendations for balancing the budgets.
The councilmerbers present agreed to put another $12,266 in the Health
Insurance Fund, restore the $25,000 cut from the Public Works Budgets, not
fill the vacancy from the retirement of the Police Lieutenant, cut $25,000
from the Police Salary budget and add $3,413 to the Police Retirement budget,
transfer $8,000 in Salaries from General Fund Traffic Signals to Tax
Increment and cut $5,000 from the Parks Salary Budget.
Councilman Hopkins said if we were going to get serious about getting an
administrative assistant there needs to be some money in the budget.
Councilman Gunnerson said we have to work with the money available, and
Saverud said there needs to be a couple of Council Workshops to discuss the
administrative assistant.
2. Health Insurance
Councilman Saverud reported he and the Mayor and Clerk feel we should budget
for the increased premiums requested by Blue Shield and continue to
investigate options available to us.

Councilmen Hopkins and Saverud reviewed the claims to be approved.
