07-30-85 Finance Comm Minutes• JULY 30, 1985 FINANCE COMMITTEE 4:00 PM Chairman Ruiz called the meeting to order. All councilmen were present except Councilman Palmer. Also attending were Mayor McDowell, Clerk Halver and Roger Hopkins. The clerk was instructed to determine if the Building Department budget provided for an extra employee. Councilman Saverud inquired if the Fifth Ave. West project was included in the preliminary budget. It was not and will be considered at the meeting August 1. Councilman Nystul asked if the replacement of Griffin Park was budgeted for. Halver said it wasn't and he would look at where it should be budgeted and provide for it. After discussing a deductible reserve for uninsured losses the clerk was instructed to provide for a 1000.00 reserve in the proper fund. Oouncilman Schindler requested a budget for the police department of 5-6000 for controlling juvinile problems. After discussion the committee recommended the police try to handle it within the available budget. Councilman Manning requested the Parks Department be given the 13,000 in the Revenue Sharing budget not yet allocated and the committee agreed. He asked Halver how much interest had been earned in the Swimming pool construction fund and Don said he would find out. Chairman Ruiz requested a Finance Committee Meeting for Thursday August 1, 1985 at 7:00 am. The agenda will be budgeting for Tax Increment Funding and Fifth Avenue West and all councilmen are invited to attend. Adjourned at 5:45 pm. •
