The Finance Committee,

4:00 P. M. Present were Finance Committee members'Saverud, Ruiz and Nystul, also
Mayor McDowell.

TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL;
The receipt of the annual financial report was noted. Completion date of this
report was Friday, October 22.
A letter from the Head Start Program received in March was referred to the Mayor
for .formal response. Verbal replies were given.previous y. owever, irector ancy-
Jensen has called again -to request that a letter be sent to Head Start.
The sewer funds statements were reviewed. Several questions raised will have to
be resolved with the Finance Director,
Bicycle licenses were discussed. Police Chief Stefani.c has prepared a discussion
of permanently licensing bicycles. The fee charged by the city for an annual license
has been minimal. The intent would be to have a one-time licensing, with identifica-
tion stamped into the frame.
A discussion of other licenses will be continued after a review is prepared.
Presently charges are made for plumbers, gas fitters, gas contractors, soda machines,
etc. The logic and revenue from some are doubtful. The League will be contacted for
information on licensing electronic games, as well as business and occupation licenses.
It is not the intent to 1& y for these now, but to gather some information.
