10-04-82 Finance Comm MinutesFINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING OF OCTOBER 4, 1982
The finance committee met at 3:30 PM on 4 October at city hall. In
attendance were Councilmen Nystul and. Ruiz, Mayor McDowell & Finance
Director Swanson.
1. Finance Director Swanson reported that Revenue Sharing for the
present entitlement period would probably be reduced by $21,000. It
was decided not to .make any adjustements in the budget at this time.
We will wait for the first payment to be sure of the amount to be
received. The finance department is to schedule the anticipated pay-
ments for the next year to make a cash flow forecast.
2. Bills presented were approved for payment.
3. The staff was directed to prepare a needs and cost analysis for the
purchase of photo copier(s) for city hall. They are to report back to
the finance committee with the specifications for the bid call.
4. The Finance Director's request to prepare a propasal for improving
our data processing was approved.
5. The Mayor was asked. about the clerical abilities of the new person
hired in the Clerk's office. He is to check with Marge and report back.
6. The letter from Tom Flynn on the sewer budget was referred to the
water sewer committee.
7. Discussion on the Urban Coalition - (cities and counties).
C. Ruiz felt we should remain with the League and not devide between
two groups. Mayor McDowell also thought that was the better approach.
C. Nystul had no strong feelings either way. The committee will make no
recommendation at the next council meeting.
