04-29-85 Annexation Committee• April 29, 1985 ANNEXATION COMMITTEE 4:00 P.M.
Chairman Manning and Councilmen Springer and Palmer in attendance.
Chet Ellingson, Chet Mahugh, and Tom Mahugh also present.
ON -SITE INSPECTION OF ROBBIN PROPERTY - (Across from Triangle Building,
North of Tri-Co). Committee met to look at site at the request of Chet Elling-
son to see if they could get an indication of whether to pursue reapplying
for re -zoning of that lot. Committee looked at the lot, the adjacent land
uses, discussed compatability of the proposed change to the area, conditional
use of the property north of the zone change request.
Consensus of the committee was that without going through the public
hearing process they could not recommend whether or not it was to Mahugh's
best interest in bringing in the proposed zone change request. The
committee did feel that if the lot were to go through the zone change the
small house on the southeas.t corner next to the alley should also be included
in the zone change. They felt that on -site parking should be restricted
from backing out onto North Main. There seemed to be ample space on the
property to provide=sufficient-parking under -the zoning ordinance.
Discussion of the answering service on the north side of the lot in
question: If left as a conditional use and not included in the zone change
request it would provide a possible buffer between commercial and residential
designation. There was a question of whether that business would comply if
included in the zone change.
