Moved by Metcalf that the contract with Brinkman A Lenon, Architects, for the
design of the reservoir covers be modified to include inspection and supervision
of the construction by them. Motion seconded and carried.
Moved by Horstman that the B 4 B Grocery be granted approval for curb cuts
on their property on South Montana Street and 3rd Ave. E. N., the saes: as previously
granted -on North Montana, with the provision that_ the City retain the right, to
require construction of sidewalks whenever needed. Motion seconded and carried.
Moved by Huggins that request of Bud Begg for curb cuts on property corner of
2nd Ave. W. and 3rd St, be considered at this meeting. Motion seconded by Horstman
and carried.
Moved by Vick that the request for curb cuts be referred to the Sidewalk and
Curb Committee with power to act. Motion seconded and carried.
Moved by Metcalf, seconded by Vick, that meeting adjourn. Carried.
Read and approved this lot day of June, 1959.

REGULAR MEETING
Mayor
A Regular Monthly feting of the City Council was held June 1, 1959, at 7:30
P. M.
Mayor Hamer and all Councilmen were present.
The minutes of the regular meeting of May 4 and special meetings of May 19th
and May ?tad were read and approved as read on motion of Metcalf, seconded by Haddow
and carried.
Monthly reports of City Officials were examined and approved as follows:
City Engineer for May on motion of Huggins, seconded by Harmon and carried.
Chief of Police for May on motion of Vick, seconded by Haddow and carried.
City Clerk for April on motion of Fisher, seconded by Ryder and carried.
City Treasurer for April on motion of Ryder, seconded by Harmon.
Police Judge for May on motion of Fisher, seconded by Huggins.
Health Officer for May on motion of Huggins, seconded by Horstman.
(Recommendations by Health Officer on dog ordinance to be referred to Dog
Committee)
Finance Chairman Haroeon reported all bills had been audited by tl!e Committee
and moved payment be alloyed. Motion seconded by Vick and carried.
Horstman, Chairman of Sidewalk and Curb Committee, declined request of Bud
Begg for full curb cut on. property at 2nd Ave. West and 3rd St. Begg asked for
70 ft. curb cut extending east from 2nd Ave:. corner. Moved by Fisher that action
on this be,postponed until meeting Wednesday and in meantime Council members inspect
property involved. Seconded by Ryder and carried.
Chairman Fisher spoke for Dog Committee, who favored a stricter ordinance but
felt that lack of funds would prevent proper enforcement.
Moved by Harmon that dog problem be referred back to the Committee and an
ordinance be prepared for camaiderstion at the next regular meeting in July.
Seconded by Horstman and carried.
A petition by the owners of Underhill and Adams Additions for abandonment of
Special Improvement District No. 296, created for the purpose of laying water mains
In the entire area of these additions, was presented and read.
Moved by Huggins that this S. 1, D. No. 296 be abandoned. Motion seconded by
Harmon. Roll call vote was taken. All Councilmen voted for the motion.

Upon receipt of a petition by owners of Underhill and Adams Additions,
it was moved by Huggins that the City Council adopt a resolution of intention
to create Special Improvement District No. 297 for the purpose of laying water
mains in the entire area of Underhill Addition and that -section of Adams Addition
abutting on the full length of Liberty Street and acrossAvi�St* and
including the connection from Underhill Addition except for the SO feet of water
main extending across Meridian Road which the City agrees to lay at its own
expense. Motion seconded by Vick. On roll call vote taken, all Councilmen
voted for passage of the resolution.
The Mayor then appointed James Curtis Chief of Police, effective to the
first Monday of May, 1961. Moved by Vick appointment be confirmed. Motion
seconded by Haddow and carried.
Elvin Christopherson was appointed Assistant Chief of Police for the same
period, and the appointment was confirmed on notion of Metcalf, seconded and
carried.
Mayor also appointed Lloyd B. McClintick City Engineer for the balance of
the elective term. Confirmation was given on motion of Ryder, seconded by Harmon
and carried.
Charles White, Attorney for Lee Lewis, presented plat of Lewis & Clark
Addition west of Fairgrounds and asked for annexation to the City.

It was moved by Metcalf that a Resolution of Intention to extend the corporate
limits to include Lot 1 of Block 1 of Lewis and Clark Addition be adopted and
City Clerk be instructed to publish the required notice, Motion seconded by
Harmon. On roll call vote all Councilmen voted for passage of the Resolution.
Roger Marshall asked Council on behalf of Legion Junior Baseball for a new
field on the airport. Moved by Harmon that the request be referred to the Park
and Recreation Committee with power to act. Seconded and carried.
Bob Hatfield asked for flood lights at tennis courts near Peterson School.
On motion of Ryder, seconded and carried* this was referred to Park & Recreation.
Committee.
Hale Thompson, owner of Montgomery Addition, proposed deeding a strip for a
roadway to open up a dead and street. Moved by Ryder to refer to the Street and
Alley Committee for a report to the Council, seconded by Fisher and carried.
Moved by Ryder that Fire Chief be authorized to hire a substitute fireman for
the summer vacation period only, without rights to accrue on reserve. Seconded
by-Haddow and carried.
Moved by Ryder that the Mayor and Engineer be authorised to approve change
orders on the -construction of the reservoir covers not exceeding $100,00 per item.
Seconded by Fisher and carried.
On motion of Huggins, seconded by Fisher and carried, the following bonds
were approved$
Lloyd B. McClintick - City Engineer $19000,00
H. J. Hunt- City Clerk 1,000.00
Una J. McMillan - City Treasurer 100000.00
Edna Perkins • Assistant City Treasurer 19000.00
A. R. Lyford --Plumbers Bond - 19000.00
Motion to adjourn was made by Vick, seconded by Harmon and carried.
