04/11/60 SP City Council Minutes48 SPECIAL MEETING A Special Meeting of the Kalispell City Council held April llth, 1960, 7:30 P. M. in accordance with the following notice given and acknowledged: TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA Gentlemen: There will be a special meeting of the City Council Monday, April 11, 1960, at 7:30 P. M., for the following purposes: ARMORY SITE - ARMY RESERVE BIDS ON GRAVEL REQUEST FOR GOLF DRIVING RANGE PETITION TO CHANGE NAME "'PINECREST PLACE" KALISPELL PLUMBING & HEATING - SEWER CONTRACT We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council, do hereby waive notice of the date and purpose of the special meeting of the City Council to be held Monday, April 11, 1960, at 7:30 P. M., and consent to the transaction of any and all business to come before the Council as designated above. ATTEST H. J. Hunt City.Clerk H. A. Huggins Fred Metcalf Walter Ryder Vernon Homuth Herman Slama, contractor on Sewage Plant asked for consideration in delay of completion of contract. Moved by Horstman that the matter of penalty be held in obeyance until next regular meeting and receipt of Engineer's progress report. Motion seconded and carried. Resolution No. 2416, a resolution changing na=6 of street "Pinecrest Place" back to 1st Ave. E. N., was presented. Moved by Haddow, seconded by Harmon, Resolution be adopted. Roll call vote - all voting for. Homuth of Safety Committee, reported on application of Rick Jones to lease ground on airport for a golf driving range, did not recommend because of lack of sufficient ground available. Street and Alley Committee recommended acceptance of items #1 and #2 of gravel bid of Engebretson Gravel Company, being 8,000 yds. of 5/8"' crushed gravel and 2,000 yds. of 21 gravel from bidders pit. Moved by Haddow, seconded by Horst - man, bid be accepted. Carried. Colonel Kaschko and Capt. Jewett of the U. S. Army requested a site -on the airport south of National Guard Armory for an Army Reserve Armory. Moved by Huggins that this be referred jointly to the Finance and Sewer -Water Committees for study and a report at a special meeting when a decision has been reached. Seconded by Homuth and carried. Huggins named Chairman of Joint Committee. Drs. Higgins, Kreck, Downey and Dachs presented proposal to build a clinic on #93 north of the Tip Top Drive In and asked for sewer and water connections to this property. Moved by Harmon to refer to Sewer -Water Committee for a study and report to Council. Seconded by Horstman and carried. Mayor Hammer requested permission to be absent from State April 14-19, Moved by Harmon, seconded by Horstman, permission be granted. Motion carried. Moved by Huggins that request for the golf driving range be referred to the Joint Committee on the Armory site. Seconded and carried.
