A Special Meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held March 20, 1961,
at 7:30-P. M., in accordance with the following notice given and acknowledged:

We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council,
do hereby waive notice of the date and purpose of the special meeting of the
City Council to be held Monday, March 20, 1961, at 7:30 P. M., and consent to
the transaction -of any and all business to come before the Council as designated
above.

Mayor Hammer presided. Councilmen Fisher, Haddow, Harmon, Homuth, Huggins,
Metcalf, and Ryder present. Horstman absent.
Sewer -Water Chairman Huggins stated Committee would have a report on Lee
Lewis sewer problem for special meeting scheduled Monday, March•27th.
Chairman Haddow of Street and Alley Committee recommended acceptance of -bid
of Flathead Motor Sales for purchase of new dump truck at their low bid of
$4,341.54 F. 0. B., Kalispell. Haddow moved acceptance of the report. Seconded
by Huggins and carried.
Haddow also moved that two City equiptnent operators be authorized to view
demonstration of Treasure State Equipment Company's loader at Billings at the
Company's expense. Motion seconded and carried. - -
Moved by Ryder that Frank Trippett be given permission for a 30 foot curb
cut on lots 7 and 8 of block`65. Seconded by Fisher and carried.

Moved by Harmon that Safety Committee draw up specifications and call for
bids on 2 new Police Patrol Cars for purchase and/or lease; bids to be opened
on April 10, 1961. Seconded and carried.
Harmon of Recreation Committee recommended renewal of Golf Course lease
with Golf Association for 35 months from March 1, 1961 @ 350.00 per year rental.
Moved by Homuth Committee's recommendation be accepted. Seconded by Metcalf
and carried.
William Walterskirchen, Attorney representing Louis Phillips, proposed
that Phillips would pay cost of. 6" and 4" water line to serve his lots north of
City reservoir if City would pay the additional cost of laying a 12" main which
eventually could serve additional adjacent areas.
Moved by Harmon to refer to the Sewer -Water Committee for report at
March 27th Council meeting. Seconded by Homuth and carried.
Moved by Fisher that Attorney James Salansky represent City at hearing in
Cut Bank March 21st on request of Intermountain Bus Company to transfer the
Kalispell-Ilavre franchise. Seconded by Harmon and carried..
Recommend by Recreation Chairman Harmon that City send one or two Councilmen
and school board members to Anaconda and Bozeman to make a first hand study of
the recreation program in these Cities with trip. to be made at City's expense.

Sewer Water Committee Chairman Huggins moved that City enter into written
agreement with Mr. Louis Phillips providing for laying a 12" water main from
City stand pipe north to serve lots owned by Phillips and provide the first unit
oflineto Northridge Addition, with Phillips sharing the cost of the project to
the extent of the cost of a 6" and 4" line in the amount of $4,325.00. Motion
seconded and carried.
