REGULAR MEETING
Regular meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held July 7, 1962 at 7:30 P.M.
Mayor Flynn presiding with all Councilmen present.
Minutes of regular meeting of June 4, 1962 and special meeting of June 199 1962
were read. Roberts moved approval as read. Seconded and carried®
Reports of City Officials:
-Chief of Police for June
Police Judge for June
City Engineer for June
City Sanitarian for June
City Treasurer for May
City Clerk for May
Fire Chief for second quarter
The -above reports were approved and accepted on motion of Turner. Seconded
and carried.
Reports of Committees:
Bjorneby, for Park and Recreation, J.C#s have project to improve picnic
tables and fireplaces in Woodland Park. Also need for more drinking fountains.
Lenon, Street and Alley, No decision reached on power line along Airport,
To be left in committee and State Aeronautical Board to be consulted on future
use of -Airport,
Homuth, for Finance Committee,: Reported all claims audited and approved.
Moved adoption of the report. Seconded and carried;
Fire Chief Price recommended appointment of Charles Hathaway "Fire Captain".
Roberts moved confirmation of appointment. Seconded and carried.
Addressing the Council:
Dr. Wallner of the "Retrievers Club" requested use of a section of Woodland
Park by club members for training retrievers. Referred to Park and Recreation
Committee with power to act,
William Kech, owner'of Pizza Oven, 12 1st. Street West, asked for a reserved
meter space for loading and customers. Moved by Roberts it be granted at regular
fee of $7.50 per month. Seconded by Ellingson and carried.
Smyser moved approval of the following applications for Liquor and Beer
Licenses, Seconded and carried.

Police Judge Christopherson requested leave of absence from July 9th to 29th.
Moved by Smyser that leave be granted and Leslie Cochran be appointed Police Judge
to serve during absence on half day basis. Seconded and carried.
Officer Robert Sevier tendered his resignation from the Police Department
effective July 21, 1962 and asked for return of his payments into the Police
Pension Fund. Moved by Lenon that resignation be accepted and request for return
of payments be referred to City Attorney. Seconded and carried.
Council reviewed present rates being charged for the Maintenance Fund and
Homuth moved that all corner lots be assessed at one rate and all inside lots
at one rate on a city wide basis, excluding from assessment lots in Water
Sprinkling District. Seconded by Lenon and carried.
Smyser moved for adjournment. Seconded and carried.

SPECIAL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held July 19, 1962
at 9:00 A. M.
Mayor Flynn and all Councilmen were present.
The Council reviewed the preliminary budget for the fiscal year 1962-63
with department heads appearing at stated intervals during the day.
Request of Buttrey Foods for 60 day extension of lease for propane tank
was granted on motion of Turner. Seconded by Smyser and carried.
Request of "YoHo Club" to place small building on East Idaho for tourist
Information booth was granted on motion of Smyser. Seconded and carried.
Moved by Roberts the curb cut be granted B & B Food Market as requested.
Seconded and carried.
The Council adjourned at 5:00 P. M.
