SPECIAL MEETING

A Special Meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held Tuesday June 19, 1962
at 7:30 P. M. in accordance with the following notice given and acknowledged.
TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA
Gentlemen:
There will be a special meeting of the City Council Tuesday, June 19, 1962
at 7:30 P. M, for the following purposes:
New working agreement for City Employees, Local #256
Open negotiations for wage increase for 1962 and 1963 and any other matters
that may properly come before the Council.
We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council, do
hereby waive notice of the date and purpose of the special meeting bf the City
Council to be held Tuesday, June 19, 1962 at 7:30 P. M., and consent to the
transaction of any and all business to come before the Council as designated
above.

Present were Mayor Flynn and Councilmen Bjorneby, Ellingson, Homuth,
Roberts, Smyser and Turner. Lenon and Jerrow were absent.
Meeting with the Council to discuss proposed Union Contract for next fiscal
year were John Caldwell, Executive Director of American Federation of State,
County and Municipal Employees and -a Committee composed of Donald Dern, Joseph
Longpre and Albert Johnson of Local No. 256.
It was moved by Homuth that by agreement of both parties that any discussion
of wages be postponed until budget°meetings in July and that any increases in
salaries and wages granted at that°time would be retroactive to July 1, 1962.
Motion seconded by Turner and carried.

Moved by Smyser that the present contract will continue in full force and
effect during negotiations for a new contract. Seconded and carried.
The Council then adjourned.

REGULAR MEETING
Regular meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held July 7, 1962 at 7:30 P.M.
Mayor Flynn presiding with all Councilmen present.
Minutes of regular meeting of June 4, 1962 and special meeting of June 199 1962
were read. Roberts moved approval as read. Seconded and carried®
Reports of City Officials:
-Chief of Police for June
Police Judge for June
City Engineer for June
City Sanitarian for June
City Treasurer for May
City Clerk for May
Fire Chief for second quarter
The -above reports were approved and accepted on motion of Turner. Seconded
and carried.
Reports of Committees:
Bjorneby, for Park and Recreation, J.C#s have project to improve picnic
tables and fireplaces in Woodland Park. Also need for more drinking fountains.
Lenon, Street and Alley, No decision reached on power line along Airport,
To be left in committee and State Aeronautical Board to be consulted on future
use of -Airport,
Homuth, for Finance Committee,: Reported all claims audited and approved.
Moved adoption of the report. Seconded and carried;
Fire Chief Price recommended appointment of Charles Hathaway "Fire Captain".
Roberts moved confirmation of appointment. Seconded and carried.
Addressing the Council:
Dr. Wallner of the "Retrievers Club" requested use of a section of Woodland
Park by club members for training retrievers. Referred to Park and Recreation
Committee with power to act,
William Kech, owner'of Pizza Oven, 12 1st. Street West, asked for a reserved
meter space for loading and customers. Moved by Roberts it be granted at regular
fee of $7.50 per month. Seconded by Ellingson and carried.
Smyser moved approval of the following applications for Liquor and Beer
Licenses, Seconded and carried.
