Regular, monthly meeting of the Kalispell City Council was -held September
9, 1963 at 7:30 P. M.
Mayor Flynn presided. Councilmen Bjorneby, Ellingson, Homuth, Jerrow,
Roberts, Smyser and Turner were present. Lenon was absent.
Minutes of -the regular meeting of August 5th and special meetings of
Augugt'7th and 12th were read. Roberts moved approval as read, sec 'o nded by
Smyser and carried.
City Officials Monthly Reports:
Report of the Chief of Police, Police Judge, City Engineer, City Sanitarian.
for August and City Treasurer°and City Clerk for July were examined.' Homuth
moved acceptance of the reports. Seconded and carried.
Reports of Committees:
Roberts, Sidewalk and Curb Committee-- Curb Cut for Hines Motor Company
on irs't Avenue East granted by Committee. Curb installation at St. Mathews.,
Church and School placed without removal.of trees on boulevard.
Finance Committee, - Chairman HomLtth reported all claims examined and
approved`. Moved report be accepted, seconded and carried.
Eddie Eiselein, Swimming,Pool.Manager, filed a written,report of season's
6peration and made recommendations for next year.
Roberts'moved that a call for bids for the purchase of a new.ambulance
and the sale,of old one be authorized. Seconded by Smyser.and carried.
'Moved by Roberts that call for bids for car load of cast iron°pipe for
Water Department be -made. -Seconded by Bjorneby and carried.
Moved by Ellingson that call for bids for a -new Police Car be authorized.
Seconded -and carried.

Bjorneby moved that Council approve action of Mayor Flynn in designating
the Kalispell News as the official publication for the City of Kalispell.
Seconded °arid carried..
Mayor Flynn appointed Russell Anderson.to the Board of -Adjustment, to fill
unexpired term of Tim Landry.. Roberts moved confirmation of appointment.
Seconded and carried.`
Moved by Bjorneby that Council authorize letter of approval to Post Office
Department'in event new Post Office building is approved for the First Avenue
West location. Seconded and carried.
Following,bids`wexe received for purchase of new 3-wheel. Pickup for Parking
Meter Department with trade-in of old 3 wheel Harley-Davidson:
Audubon -Cushman Sales Co., Spokane Net $1,275.00
Moriarty Enterprises, Great Falls. Net 1,281.87,
Bids referred to Safety Committee with power to act on motion of Ellingson,
seconded -and carried. (Safety Committee acted to•accept low bid of Audubon -
'Cushman Sales Company at $1,275.00 Net.) '

703, an Ordinance designating one-way traffic on,6th and 7th
5tr6et's West wasres ` ' presented, and read. Roberts moved adoption of the Ordinance.
Motion seconded by Homuth. Roll call vote was taken with all Councilmen voting
for adoption. °
Roberts moved 'that Council adjourn. Seconded and carried.
Read and approved as `read thi's 7th day of October 1963.
