123, REGULAR MEETING Regular monthly meeting of the Kalispell City Council, Monday May.6, 1963 at 7:30 P1.1_ M. Mayor Flynn presiding.- All Councilmen present. Minutes of regular meeting of April 8, 1963 were read. Roberts. moved approval as amended. Seconded and carried. Minutes of special meeting of --April 29, 1963 were read and approved as read. Motion:by Roberts, seconded and carried. Monthly Reports of City Officials: Monthly report of Police Chief, City Engineer, City Sanitarian and Police Judge for April;, and City Treasurer and City Clerk for March were examined and approved. Seconded..by Smyser and .carried. Reports of Committees: Roberts, Sidewalk and curb - Reported bad condition of sidewalk on -North side of 4th'street-between Main and alley East. Moved that walk be condemned and owner ordered to replace with replacement walk to be narrowed to'8 feet in width. Seconded and carried. Moved by:Roberts that call for bids`be made for a years contract for sidewalk and curb construction and replacement using specifications of City Engineer on a commercial basis. Seconded by Bjorneby and carried. Lenon, Street and'Alley - Reported purchase of'2:::new :dump trucks and traffic paint on bids. 1iofath, Finance Committee - Reported all`claims audited and approved. Moved acceptance of report. Seconded and carried. 'Moiled by Homuth that the following letter from the Mayor to Fire Chief be recorded in the minutes of this meeting. Seconded and carried. May_ 6,. 1963 r Mr. Jack Brice, Fire Chief 3 Cj-ty-of Kalispell Dear Jack: Recently I have had conversations with several persons relative to annexing property adjoining our City Limits. In many.cases these persons are under the impression they are receiving city insurance rates now. This is to go on record, officially, to the effect that the Kalispell City Fire Department will not respond to any calls outside the corporatecity limits. T. R. Resolution No. 2492,a resolution of intention to extend corporate limits to include Flathead County High School Stadium was presented and passed. Motion by ser, Smy , seconded- by Roberts._ All Councilmen voting for on roll call vote. Resolution No. 2493, a resolution to extend thr corporate limits to include various lots south of Shop_Addition and Baker Addition as per description in Resolution was presented and .passed on motion af-,'Roberts. Seconded by Smyser Roll call vote _taken with all Councilmen voting for. Ellingson moved approval of•the,following Surety Bonds: Seconded by Jerrow and carried. Palmer Christopherson - Police Judge $1,000.00 Clyde Wilson House'Moving 1,-000.00 City Attorney Murray presented the following Ordinances: No, 697 - Uniform Building Codes No. 698 - Montana State Plumbing Code Nar., 699 - National -Electrical Code Roberts' moved passage"of the above numbered Ordinances. Seconded by Bjoineby. On roll call vote, all.Councilmen voted for_ passage. Moved Vy Lenon the Council authorize a 3,year'contract with Jacob Nelson for rental of advertising space on the'Cityrs'and his tiash cans at a rental of $15.00 per year per can. Seconded and carried." Ellingson'moved.the City purchase a street sign making machine and blank 'stock as proposed .by the City Engineer.' Seconded by.Bjorneby and,Oarried. Mayor Flynn Announced that all --standing committees would continue as formerly. William Roberts was appointed to Council Member of Chamber of Commerce, replacing Ellingson, who wished to retire. Ellingson nominated Vernon Homuth President -of the Counci-l.- Bjorneby moved nominations be closed and Hosmuth declared elected President of Council`. Seconded and carried. Council then adjourned on motion of Lenon, seconded by Jerrow. Read and approved as read ihf:s'3rd-day of June 1963. Mayor_ 1
