REGULAR MEETING
Regular monthly meeting of the Kalispell City Council held February 17,
1964 at 7:30 P. M.
Mayor Flynn presiding and all Councilmen present,
Minutes of regular meeting of February 10, 1964 were read. Turner moved
approval as read. Seconded and carried.
, Resolution No. 2523, a resolution extending the Corporate limits to include
"Highland Park First Addition" was presented atâ–ºd read. Smyser moved adoption
and:was seconded by Roberts. Roll call vote was taken with all Councilmen voting

Resolution No. 2524,- authorizing proceed from $30,000.00 Government Bonds
maturing be invested in Bank Time Certificates. Roberts moved adoption, seconded
by Lenon. On roll call vote all Councilmen.voted'for.
Mr. Kenneth O'Brien, Attorney, presented a petition on behalf of the Century
Club, Garden Club, Rose Society and Soroptomist Club, calling for the establish-
ment of a Park Board with full time Supervisor to operate the City's Parks.
Heading a.group of women present were Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Scherf who.spoke
on behalf of the petition. The Mayor and Councilmen expressed their views, the
general opinion being that such a Park Board would not be practical nor any
improvement over the present system. No definite action was taken on the petition.
Homuth moved that the women appearing on behalf of the.petitiori be commended
for their interest shown. Seconded by Lenon and carried.
Following bonds were approved; Motion by Roberts, seconded by Turner.
Timber State Electric Electricians Bond $1,000.00
Gesek Electric Electricians Bond 1,000.00
Glenn N. Ford Electricians Bond 1,000.00
Kalispell Sheet Metal Works Gas Installation Bond 3,000.00
Richards Sheet Metal Gas Installation Bond 3,000.00
Richards Sheet Metal Oil Burner Bond 1,000.00
Ivan M. Ibsen Gas Installation Bond 3,000.00
Smyser moved.that additional pipe and fittings as listed by.Water Superin-
tendent be included in order for cast iron pipe on last bid of Pacific States
Cast Iron Pipe Company. Seconded.and carried.
Lenon moved Council. -adjourn, seconded by Roberts and carried.
