Regular monthly meeting of the Kalispell City Council held Monday,
January 6, 1964 at 7:30 P. M.
Mayor Flynn presided. All Councilmen were present.
Minutes of the regular meeting of December 9, 1963 were read. Roberts
moved approval, seconded and carried.
City Officials Monthly RepoE s
Monthly reports of the Chief of Police, Police Judge, City Engineer and
City Sanitarian for December. City Treasurer and City Clerk for November and
Fire Chief's annual report were examined and approved on motion by Homuth,
seconded by Smyser.
ilomuth, Finance Committee - Reported all claims examined and approved for
payment. Moved acceptance of report, seconded and carried.
Homuth, Safety Committee - Filed written report of Committee for up -grading
and improving traffic signs at various locations. Homuth moved adoption of the
report. Seconded by Bjorneby and carried.
Moved by Ellingson that a standard traffic signal be installed at corner of
3rd Street West and 1st Avenue West. Seconded and carried.
Following bids were received for purchase of. 10,020 feet 3/4" Copper Tubing.

Turner moved acceptance of low bid of Hughes & Company. Seconded and carried.
Moved by Lenon to comply in due course with request of Safeway Stores and
First Federal Savings and Loan to close portion of alley in Block 54, site of
new Post Office Building. Seconded by Smyser and carried.
Smyser moved adoption of Resolution No. 2520 investing $25,000.00 of surplus
Water Works Funds and $10,000.00 of surplus Sewer Service Funds in six month Time
Certificates with local banks. Seconded by Bjorneby. Roll call vote was taken
with all Councilmen voting for.
Moved by Smyser that call f r bids be made for Public Liability Insurance
with optional quotation on 250/0 limits. Seconded and carried.
The following bonds were approved on motion of Turner, seconded by Bjorneby.
