01/04/65 City Council Minutes166 REGULAR MEETING Regular monthly meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held on January 4, 1965, 7:30 P. M. Mayor Flynn presided with all Councilmen present. Due to illness of H. J. Hunt P_oiel Smyser was appointed Acting Clerk. Minutes of December 7th regular meeting_ were read. Turner moved approval as read, seconded by Bjorneby and carried. City Officials Reports: Reports of City Sanitarian, City Engineer for December, and City 'Treasurer and City Clerk for November. Quarterly report of Fire Chief, Chas. Tillson were examined. Bjorneby moved approval of reports, seconded by Ellingson and carried. Homuth moved that effective January 1, 1965, Robert !400dland be confirmed as Fireman. Lenon seconded and motion carried. Turner moved that effective January 1, 1965, Charles Tillson be confirmed as Fire Chief. Seconded by Lenon and motion carried. Homuth moved that effective January 1, 1965, Ray Schroeder be confirmed as Fire Captain. Seconded by Roberts and motion carried. Addressing the Council: Mrs. Hennessy appeared before the Council seeking information on having her property annexed to the City. Chet Johnson appeared before the Council requesting that the city plow the Airport. Moved by Homuth and seconded by Bjorneby that the city set up a special fund of $150.00 to provide for this work until end of fiscal year. Motion carried. Mr. Johnson also discussed purchase of airport land. Mr. & Mrs. Morris Kelly appeared before the Council requesting permission to build a four unit Trailer Court. Motion granting permission was made by Roberts, seconded by Jerrow, and carried. Mr. Barney Horstman of Pacific Power & Light Company appeared before the Council with a new street light price schedule. Mayor Flynn referred this to the Street & Light Committee to confer and report back. Also discussed was additional lighting in Lawrence Park. John Harris, ',Water Supt. appeared with a report about water line on Main Street. fie reported -that 1800 feet of 12 inch line would have to be replaced in the near future. Eddie Sheppard sent a written request to rent a single parking space on South side of 3rd Street best, first parking space east of alley between Main Street and First Avenue West. Turner moved that this request be granted, seconded by Roberts and carried. Roberts moved that City Clerk be authorized to call for bids for City Liability Insurance at the February regular meeting. Bjorneby seconded and motion carried. Che following bonds were approved on motion by Turner and seconded by Bjorneby.
