REGULAR MEETING a
A regularmeeting of the Kalispell City Council was held October 9,
1967, in the Council Chambers at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Bjorneby presiding.
All councilmen were present.
Minutes of the meeting held October 2, 1967, were read. Councilman
Happ moved approval of the minutes as corrected. Seconded by Councilman
Roche and carried.
A letter of resignation from City Sanitarian Gene Brownin was read
by Nayor Bjorneby. The effective date of the resignation is November 1,
1967. Councilman Riley expressed the City Council's appreciation of the
services of Gene Browning.
Hear and Pass on Protest - S.I.D. 305:
No protests were received.

Sanitarian, City Engineer, Police Judge, Chief of Police and Plain
Clothes Man - September
Fire Chief - Quarterly
Councilman Roberts moved acceptance of the City Official's Reports.
Seconded by Councilman Roche and carried.
Councilman Roberts moved the adoption of Resolution No. 2644 - � Re-
solution Creating S.I.D. 305. Seconded by Councilman0'Brien. Roll Call
Vote. All voted Aye.
Committee Reports:
Councilman liiron reported the Safety Committee has accepted the bid
of Hines Chrysler Plymouth, Inc. to furnish a 1968 Plymouth F`iry Pursuit
patrol car for $1,594.00.
Councilman I -'iron stated the Committee wishes to know the feelings of
the Council regarding the intersection at 2nd Avenue East and 3rd Street
East, as to whether to stripe the curbs on the south side of 3rd Street
East on each side of 2nd Avenue East and install a stop sign to stop north-
bound traffic on 2nd Avenue East or to just stripe the curls and not in-
stall a stop sicn. Councilman Roche moved a stop sign be installed to stop
northbound traffic on 2nd Avenue East at the intersection with 3rd Street
East. Seconded by Councilman Hensley and carried.
Councilman Miron moved that a 30-foot crosswalk be painted across
W,*omin; Street between the Russell School and the Russell School playground.
Seconded by Councilman O'Brien and carried.
Street and Alley:
Councilman Happ reported the Committee recommends the ahandoni.,ent of
the alley in Block 21, 'Kalispell Original Addition between 4tc Avenue E.N.
and 5th Avenue E.N. Councilman Happ moved the adoption of the Street and
Alley Committee Report. Seconded by Councilman 'Hensley and carried.
Finance:
Councilman Hensley reported the Finance Coru-iittee has audited all claims
and they were approved for payment. Councilman 'iensle; moved acceptance of
the Finance Committee Report. Seconded by Councilman O'Brien and carried.
Parks:
Councilman Roche reported a note of thanks has been received from the
Flathead 'Fennel Club for the use of Depot Par': for the children's do show.
Councilman Roche reported the petitions to hold a special bond election
for the renovation of the swimming pool now have SCC to 900 signatures, and
it is expected that there will be in excess of 1,000 signatures within the
next few days.

Correspondence:
Correspondence was received regardin, the re-roofin of the Fire De-
partment buildin-. This was deferred to a later meeting.
Councilman O'Brien r,toved for adjourn. -Lent. Seconded by Councilman Riley
and carried.
