04/21/69 SP City Council Minutes134 SPECIAL MEETING A Special Meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held April 21, 1969, in the Council Chambers in accordance with the following notice given and acknowledged: TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNCILMEN CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA Gentlemen: There will be a Special Meeting of the City Council Monday, April 21, 1969, in the Council Chambers at 7:30 P.Y. for the following purpose: TO CONSIDER: MEETING WITH KEN R. WHITE REPRESENTATIVES CONCERNING URBAN RENEWAL. REVIEWING REVISED PLANS OF THE SWIMiIING POOL. We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council, do hereby waive notice of the date and purpose of the Special Meeting of the City Council to be held Monday, April 21, 1969, at 7:30 P.M., and consent to the transactions of the above and any other business that may properly come before the Council. Miron Manley K. McCormick Mayor Bjorneby presided at the meeting, with all councilment present. Mr. Vern Smith of Shaw -Smith, Inc., reviewed revised plans of the Bruckhauser swimming pool for the councilmen. Mr. Don Penner of the Ken R. White Company introduced Mr. Jack Sleight, Renewal Representative for the State of Montana of the Department of Urban Development. Mr. Sleight introduced Mr. Don Phillips of Seattle Community Services Program, representative for HUD, and introduced Mr. George Adams of the San Francisco Regional Office of [IUD, an economist. Following the introductions, Mr. Penner reviewed the highlights of Kalispell's Neighborhood Development Program application and answered questions of councilmen regarding the application. Mr. Adams, Mr. Phillips and Mr. Sleight explained various phases of the Neighborhood Development Program and answered questions which were directed to them. They empha- sized that the HUD offices were ready to assist the City with the Neighbor- hood Development Program whenever the City requested the assistance, but that the HUD office does not prescribe the planning --that this is a matter for the local officials. Mr. Penner informed the council that it would be necessary for a re- presentative of the City to attend a pre -application meeting at the San Francisco HUD Office, which meeting is to be scheduled the week of May 5th. Councilman Miron moved the Mayor and the City Engineer be authorized to attend the pre -application meeting to be held in S.,n Francisco in May. Seconded by Councilman Riley and carried. Mr. Doug Remi, representing the Kalispell Sunrise Lions Club, addressed the Council requesting permission to do a money -raising project in the City, which consists of painting the residence house number on the curbing after having secured permission from the occupant. A suggested donation of $1.00 per house humber will be requested. 1 Councilmen indicated approval of the project. Councilman Riley moved for adjournment. Seconded by Councilman Niron and carried.
