A Special Meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held March 28,
1969, at the Water Department office at 4:30 P.M., in accordance with the
following notice given and acknowledged:

Gentlemen:
There will be a Special Meeting of the City Council Friday, March 28,
1969, at the Water Department office at 4:30 P.M. for the following purpose:
TO CONSIDER: REVISING AND APPROVING SWIMMING POOL PLANS.
We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council, do
hereby waive notice of the date and purpose of the Special Meeting of the
City Council to be held Friday, March 28, 1969, at 4:30 P.M., and consent
to the transaction of the above and any other business that may properly
come before the Council.

Mayor Bjorneby presided at the meeting.
Councilman Roche showed Council members a section of preformed gutter
which is proposed to be incorporated in the plans of the swimming pool.
This unit is designed to force clean, filtered water to the bottom of the
pool. The unit has nozzles spaced at intervals along the gutter, which
keeps the gutter flushed and clean. With this unit, all the piping is
above ground, the only exception being the pool drain. The unit also has
an automatic skimming device so that the surface water is being constant-
ly filtered and cleaned.
The Committee wishes the Council to authorize Shaw -Smith Engineers
to rewrite the pool specifications to incorporate the preformed gutter in
the pool design and specifications.
The pool plans will be redrawn eliminating the pool divisions --diving
pool, instructional pool and the main pool, and designed instead as one
main pool with a removable wall and platform which will be used during
AAU competition to measure off 25 meters.
Councilman Roche moved Shaw -Smith Engineers be authorized to proceed
with the changes, to recall present specifications and plans and to re -
advertise for construction bids. Seconded by Councilman Miron and carried.
Mayor Bjorneby appointed M. C. Roberts as Vice -Chairman of the Swimming
Pool Committee to assist Councilman Roche.
The meeting was adjourned by Mayor Bjorneby.
