NOVEMBER 9, 1970, IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL. MAYOR BJORNEBY
PRESIDED. COUNCILMAN ROCHE ABSENT. ALL OTHER COUNCILMEN PRESENT.
READING OF MINUTES
The Minutes of the regular meeting of November 2, 1970, were read.
Councilman Miron moved approval of the minutes as corrected. Seconded by
Councilman McCormick. Carried.
CITY OFFICIAL REPORTS
Clerk - Treasurer for September.
Police Judge, Police Chief, City Engineer, and Sanitarian for October.
Councilman Roberts moved acceptance of the City Official Reports.
Seconded by Councilman Miron. Carried.

the proposed project including availability of materials, plans,
specifications, and all related contract documents, hereby promises
to provide and furnish all materials necessary to erect a Netal Com-

The undersigned Bidder further agrees, upon receipt of written notice
of the acceptance of this bid to enter into a contract within five (5)
calendar days with the owner for the delivery of the Metal Comfort
Station and Plumbing Fixtures. The successful bidder shall furnish a
performance bond satisfactory to the owner.
The Bidder further agrees that if awarded the contract he will make
delivery within 30 calendar days after the date of notice
by the Engineer to.proceed with the contract.
Enclosed herewith is a Certified Check in the amount of
100 of the bid price, which the undersigned agrees is to be forfeited
should this proposal be accepted and the contract be. awarded to him if
he fails to enter into a contract in the perscribed'form within five
(5) calendar days as above stipulated.

Councilman Roberts moved the bid be referred to the Parks 6 Recreation
Committee with power to act. Seconded by Councilman Miron. Carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Parks & Recreation - Request permission to build bleachers.
founcilman Miron reported a request of the Pee Wee League for permission
to construct bleachers at Thompson Field and Fry Field. Councilman Miron
moved the request be granted. Seconded by Councilman Roberts. Carried.
Parking Meter - Special Meter Stickers
Councilman Miron reported a request by Tom Packer, FVCC student, that the
City consider issuing special meter stickers or tags for students attending
FVCC. To be held in committee for consideration.
A request by Don Dryden, for a sign reading "DEAD END", to be erected at
the end of Second Avenue West was reported and referred to the Safety
Committee by Councilman Miron.
Safety - Ordinance restricting parking near STOP signs.
Councilman O'Brien moved amendment to Ordinance 11-54 to restrict parking
near stop signs. Seconded by Councilman Miron. Councilmen discussed the
wording of the Ordinance. Councilmen Miron withdrew his second to the motion.
Councilman O'Brien withdrew motion. City Attorney to redraft amendment to
Ordinance.
Finance - Monthly audit.
Councilman Hensley reported that claims for the month of October have
been audited and approved for __t_�
PP payment. --He further *��"oared that department
heads review travel vouchers from their departments before submitting for
payment. Several travel claims have not been computed according to the
Ordinance and required correction. Councilman Hensley moved acceptance of the
Finance Committee Report. Seconded by Councilman Miron. Carried.
Annexation - Permission to move building.
The Committee has looked at the building which Mr. Sorenson requested
permission to move and recommend permission be granted, with restriction
that building may be used only as a garage or storage shed. Councilman
Roberts moved Mr. Sorenson be granted permission to move building from
186 6th Avenue W. N. to 175 6th Ave. W. N. and that the use of the building
be restricted to use as a garage or storage shed. Seconded by Councilman
Turner. Carried.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS - Letter of Resignation.

Honorable A.ayor and
Members of City Council
City of Kalispell
Dear Sirs:
Having served the City of Kalispell for twenty one (21)
years as a fire fighter and Chief of the Kalispell Fire
Department and having reached the age of firty one (51).
I hereby petition the governing body of the City of
Kalispell to act on my request to retire from this ser-
vice with the termination date of my service to be Dec-
ember 15th. of this year.
During my tenure as Chief of the Kalispell Fire Depart-
ment, I have enjoyed excellent cooperation from the
members of the Kalispell Fire Department, from Mayors
and City Councils past and present, from all City de- -
partments and the people of Kalispell, for which I
wish ,to express a heartfelt t1 Thank You".
It is not without mixed emotions of regret and pensive--
ness that I present this petition.

Councilman OtBrien moved acceptance of the resignation of Fire Chief Tillson
as of December 15, 1970. Seconded by Councilman Turner. Carried.

Councilman Turner moved acceptance of the Bonds Seconded by Councilman
Miron. Carried.
Letter from Burlington Northern Railway, raising rental on property leased to
the City. -Councilman Riley moved these be referred to the. Water Committee to
bring back recommendation at next meeting. Seconded by Councilman Miron.
Carried.
Mayor Bjorneby presented the maintenance contract for the new traffic signals
which was received from the State Highway Department. Councilman Miron moved
the contract be referred to the City Attorney, City Engineer and Safety
Committee Chairman. Seconded by Councilman Riley. Carried.
