A SPECIAL MEETING WAS HELD AT 12 NOON, WEDNESDAY, JULY 25, 1979 IN THE CONFE MCE ROOM
AT CITY HALL. MAYOR HAPP PRESIDED. COUNCILMEN O'BOYLE AND DALEY WERE ABSENT. ALL
OTHER COUNCILMEN WERE PRESENT.
Councilman Grainger, Chairman of the Safety Committee, reported that bids for police
vehicles for the STEP program were opened July 23rd. On the bids for one police car,
the following bids were received: Manions - 1980 Catalina - $7,998.00 - delivery
October 11, 1979; Hines. Chrysler - 1980 Plymouth Volare - $7,558.93 - delivery 60-90
days after new car announcement which is about October 1st; Roy Stanley Chevrolet -
1979 Chevrolet Malibu - $7,356.18 - immediate delivery or 1980 Chevrolet Malibu -
$8,281.40 - delivery January 1980.
Councilman Grainger moved to accept the bid of the 1980 Pontiac Catalina because of the
delivery date of October llth. Seconded by Councilman Saverud. Motion carried.
Bob Meier Oldsmobile - GMC van - $6,565.00;
On the bids for two police vans, the fallowing bids were received: Aadsen Ford -
$15,966.24 - immediate delivery; Hines Chrysler - $18,798.00 - Approximately 30 day
delivery; Roy Stanley Chevrolet - $15,867.82 - delivery approximately January 1980.
Councilman Grainger moved to authorize purchase of two police vans from Aadsen Ford;
Ronan, because of immediate delivery. Seconded by Councilman Ruiz. Motion carried.
The following bid was received for two motorcycles: Northwest Sports, Inc. - $9,114.00 -
Kawasaki - delivery October let. Councilman Grainger moved to accept the bid of North-
west Sports, Inc. Seconded by Councilman Ruiz. Motion carried.
AUTHORIZE ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR 2 POLICE CARS
Councilman Grainger moved to authorize Police Chief McDowell to advertise for bids for
two police cars with bid opening at the regular meeting of August 20th. Seconded by
Councilman Saverud. Motion carried. There will be no trade-in involved in the purchase.
SALARY ORDINANCE #929
Hearing the first reading, Councilman Ruiz moved to enact Ordinance #929, salary ord-
inance for the fiscal year 1979-80. Seconded by Councilman Zauner. Roll call vote.
All voted aye. Second reading will be August 8th.
REZONING ORDINANCE #930
Hearing the first reading, Councilman Smith moved to enact Ordinance #9" an ordinance
to extend the rezoning time limit to January 1, 1980. Seconded by Councilman Grainger.
Roll call vote. All voted aye.

Councilman Saverud reported that Architect Schwartz wants a final inspection of the
water office.
HEALTH INSURANCE
Councilman Granmo moved that all city employees be covered by the same health insurance
plan that covers fire and police employees as provided by the City. Seconded by Council-
man Grainger. Motion carried.
Councilman Grainger moved to adjourn. Seconded by Councilman Saverud. Motion carried.
