BUSINESS: Katharine Thompson gave us a brief update on the Kalispell Gets you Glacier Grant. We discussed the possibility of the payments to Julius as part of our contribution to the grant social media commitment. We will discuss this more thoroughly in October. Marshall asked the board if they wished to continue with a winter concert series again this year. He indicated that he does not have the time to do all of the work associated with the concerts. He would be happy to book the concerts but is requesting additional support and help both in tasks and monetary support. He does have two concerts booked already. The first concert is Story Hill on Thursday, December 13. There is always a sell -out crowd for Story Hill. He also has an invitation out to Troy Evans who is has great attendance. More discussion will happen on this event after Pam C. proposes to the KDA events committee that we try and combine a music night with First Fridays and do some co -marketing with restaurants to bring in the music. Marshall will also check with Bill Goodman about the KM Theatre and determine if it is available again this winter for the concerts. Beginning discussion was held on the issues related to the BID district renewal, expansion and boundaries. The board recognized that this topic will need significant time and requested a work session dedicated to the issue. A work session was scheduled for September 11 at 3:00 PM. Under the coordinators report Pam C brought up the Trippons contract and the new purchase by the Daily Interlake of the Flathead Market. The Daily Interlake is doing significant advertising so the businesses should see more utilization. Our contract if renewed would be made directly through Trippons as in the past and would need to be renewed in November. This item will be scheduled for discussion at the October board meeting.
