ORDINANCE NO. 929
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE LIMITS OF THE SALARY AND COMPENSATION OF
THE CITY OFFICIALS, SUPERVISORS, AND EMPLOYEES BEGINNING JULY 1,
1979;. REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS:
' SECTION I. The salaries and compensation of City Officers, Super-
visors, and Employees for the period beginning July 1, 1979, are
hereby established as set out on Exhibit A, attached hereto and
which, by this reference, is made a part hereof. Appropriations
shall be made to pay same when due.
The said salaries and compensations are established as maxi-
mums for each position listed for said period and, except for
elected Officers of the City, apply to incumbent personnel only in
such positions, except as may be provided to the contrary in any
lawful and binding collective bargaining agreement to which the
City is a party. Should it become necessary for the said incum-
bents to be replaced for any reason, the Mayor and City Council
will establish the salary and compensation for the person replacing
said incumbent in the position listed.
The salary and compensation of the Surveyor as set forth on
Exhibit A, shall be paid at ninety percent (90%) thereof until
the present incumbent completes a satisfactory probationary term.
SECTION II. Longevity increment and medical insurance premiums
for those persons affected by the collective bargaining agreement
with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Em-
ployees, AFL-CIO, its Montana State Council No. 9, and its Local
Union No. 256, shall be paid in accord with said contract or
any mutually agreed addendums thereto. Other longevity increments
and medical insurance premiums shall be paid as provided by law
or as directed by the City Council.
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
as regularly provided by law; all salaries and compensation pro-
vided for herein shall be paid retroactive to July 1, 1979.
SECTION IV. All prior salary and compensation ordinances of the
City and any ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.

Tars of City service. The annual service anniversary date for all employees
is July 1 of each year; however, an employee is eligible for such payment only
after at least six (6) months continuous City employment prior to each July I
first.
