Ordinance 884 - Increases Fees for Plumbing Permits486 , ORDINANCE NO. O S4 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE, KALISPELL CITY CODE TO INCREASE FEES FOR PLUMBING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 21-16 of the Kalispell City Code is hereby amended to provide as follows: "Section 21-16. Additional Inspection. If additional inspection shall become necessary because of failure to comply with the provisions of this article or through lack of preparedness for the inspection, a charge of X5-00 shall be made for every such additional inspection. All fees so assessed shall be paid to the plumbing inspector for the city upon whose receipt only shall such additional inspection be made." SECTION 2. Section 21-17(b) of the Kalispell City Code is hereby amended to provide as follows: "(b) Fees for Permits. Before the issuance of any permit, the plumbing inspector shall require the payment of a fee in accordance with the following table: "For plumbing systems containing one to two fixtures, the fee shall be 2.•$o for each and every fixture with a minimum fee of $,bo For each additional fixture, the fee shall be 4,2,oa for all fixtures in excess of the first two. A fee of /0,o0 shall be charged for all sewer connections. "The construction, repair and maintenance of all sewer drains, cesspools, etc., whether public or private within the limits of the city, shall be under the supervision and direction of the city inspector, his authorized assistant or duly appointed inspector. The fee shall cover location of wyes and the establishment of grade for sewers. The contractor shall furnish all necessary materials. "If alterations to the plumbing of an existing building be desired, the permit fee shall be based upon the number of fixtures affected or replaced. No fee shall be exacted for work generally known as maintenance work. If any work on the constructions, alterations or repairs of a plumbing system be commenced without a permit having first been secured, double the fees above stated shall be exacted when a permit is finally issued. Payment of such double fees, however, shall in no way relieve such persons of the penal- ties imposed for violation of this article. If work under a permit be not commenced for six months after its issuance, or if, after partial completion, the work is discontinued for the period of one year, the permit thereupon shall become void and no work shall be done at the premises until a new permit shall have been secured. 0 1 11 "For the purpose of fixing the amount of inspection fees to be paid when issuing permits, each fixture having a waste outlet, regardless of traps, shall be counted as a fixture. Cellar drains, catch basins and cisterns connected with the sewer shall be counted as fixtures." SECTION 3. All other portions of Section 21-17, Kalispell City Code, shall remain in full force and effect.
