ORDINANCE NO. 794
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 23-,61 KALISPELL CITY CODE,
PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN BASIC SURCHARGE TOARATER BILL FOR
SEWAGE FACILITIES AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFORE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL,
MONTANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Rates, rentals or charges, as provided for in the
preceding section shall be .as follows:
' (a) Every person using city water shall be charged each month
a basic rate of sixty per cent (60%) of his adjusted water bill,
such rates to be computed separately on each water meter measuring
city water to such person.
(b) Where sources of water other than metered city water is
used in anv industrial, manufacturing or other process or by any
person in any way and discharged into the sewerage system there
shall be an additional sewerage rental charged on such volume of
water computed as though such other water was purchased from the
city and separately metered at the then existing water rates for
such volume; should such person be a noncity water user, such charge
shall be levied against him monthly and collected by the city water
department even though there is no water bill to which it can be
attached as a surcharge.
(c) 'The maximum sewer charge to any person as to each meter
serving him shall be fifty dollars per month; for the purpose of
determining maximum sewer charges each well or source of water other
than metered water shall be considered a separate service and subject
to sewer charges up to the maximum and not combined with metered
water serving the premises. Provided that should the charges under
subsection (b) hereof apply to a person not served by a water meter
as to his premises so connected with the city sewer, such maximum
shall be applied to such premises without regard to, or tacking to
other sewer charges against such person.
(d) The minimum sewer charge for all persons operating a business
shall be the sum of two dollars and fifty cents per month per fifty
foot lot or portion thereof.
(e) Each and every person using city water and connected to
the city cewer system residing outside the corporate limits of the
city shall be charged a basic rate of one hundred per cent of his
water bill.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in,full force and effect from and
after July 1, 1972.
