North Side 'Water well Engineering Contract
This memo is to request the approval of the addendum to the North Side water well
engineering contract be added to the August 23 rd Council 'work Session agenda.
The original contract dates back to April 1994. At that time fees were negotiated for
engineering services up through the test well drilling and. final design report phases.
Fees for the final design and construction management phases were left for future
negotiations.

Mthough we do not have a finalized addendum to submit at this time, we will

certainly have completed negotiations before the September 9 regular meeting.. with. ward IV
luck, we may have something to hand out on August 2 a . we would like to have
approval on September 9th so we can move ahead for a mid -December start up on
the well drilling schedule
The project, which will be built on the commurnity college property, was temporarily
derailed because of a conflict between drilling and school schedules. The college
President has recently agreed for us to drill the new wells through the Christmas
break and into the next semester. Although I have discussed the new schedule with
Al, it is possible the Council thinks the project still is on hold until spring.
