3. Truck Parking in Residential Districts

This ordinance is currently in effect m Missoula. Kalispell City ordinances currently do not specifically restrict the parking of tractor trailers or "semis" in residential areas. We have fielded several complaints over the past few years concerning this issue. Please let me know if you need any additional information to satisfy your inquiry. B. Vehicles transporting explosives shall comply with all provisions of the Uniform Fire Code as well as federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the transporta- tion of explosives. Vehicles transporting explosives shall be routed to avoid congested traffic and densely populated areas. C. The fire and police departments shall be promptly notified when a vehicle transporting explosives is involved in an accident, breaks down, or catches fire. Only in the event of such an emergency shall the transfer of explosives from one vehicle to another be allowed on highways, streets, alleys or parking lots within the city and only when quali- fied supervision is provided. No per- son shall park any motor vehicle for camp ng purposes in the city or within one-half mile of the city limits, except in a tourist park. However, this provision shall not apply to attendance at special public events or shows lasting in excess of one day that have a tendency to attract people from outside the community if the camping occurs in a motor vehicle or vehicle that has self-contained toilet facili- ties and the camping occurs at a site approved by a proper- ty owner as part of the special public event or show. Examples of these types of special public events or shows include but are not limited to fairs, yantique shows, gun shows, dog shows and circuses. B. It is unlawful for any person to dump or deposit any sink water or sewage from a motor vehicle or vehicle designed for camping anywhere except in a disposal site ap- proved by the city -county health department. In the event a vehicle is parked in violation of any ordinance of the city or any regulation of the parking commission, such vehicle may be removed from the place so parked at the order of either the police de- partment, the street department or the parking commission. B. Whenever evidence shows that the vehicle had been reported as stolen at the time in question, or was not parked illegally, or that he/she was not the registered owner of the vehicle at the.time of the alleged violation, that person is absolved of responsibility for the particu- lar Offense.
