Dear Mayor Kennedy and City Council Members:
Thank you for the opportunity to sit with the City Manager this week and
discuss the possibility of establishing a charter for the City of Kalispell.
We agree with the Charter principle. But, the Board thinks that it is best to
have a Charter emerge out of the local government review process that
includes citizen input. Citizen involvement is key. We encourage you to
postpone the notion of placing a draft Charter on the November ballot and
instead work to establish the citizen -based local review committee as soon as
possible.
