RE: GLACIER REAL ESTATE SIGN
A while back, I met with Jim Blome from Epson Signs out of Missoula regarding the
sign. Pursuant to my earlier discussions with you, 1 told them that the City wants the situation
resolved and would be willing to pay the costs of bringing the sign into compliance. Any
additional costs related to appearance, etc. would be at their expense.
A couple weeks ago, Jinn called to say that he had done some work on the issue, and
would be in town later in the month. In fact, we met this afternoon to go over the matter.
Attached is a copy of a preliminary design Jim has put together. He has not yet had a chance to
develop a cost estimate or receive approval from Glacier Real Estate and the property owners
(Epson owns the sign and it is subject to a lease). Jiro hopes to develop more of this information
before the meeting on Monday.
The design on the right side of the page (without the base) would bring the sign fully into
compliance. The design on the left side of the page (with the base) would bring the sign very
close to compliance. Essentially, the only deficiency would be just a few inches in width of the
upper part of the base (about 3 inches on each side).
