SUBJECT: Oversized'Utilitv Extensions
MEETINGDATE: December 19,2005 Work Session
Many subdivision developments have been approved over the past year. Water and sewer
extensions to serve those developments are required to be designed to meet the needs of the development.
to order to ensure adequate carrying capacity for future growth these utility extensions are frequently
.de larger to provide the needed extra. capacity. In addition, the 2002 Fa lfity Plan and approved Capital
Improvement Plan identified many utility improvements that could potentially be funded wholly or in part
y development projects.
Several recent projects have included CIP improvements and/or oversized utilities to provide
needed capacity to serve beyond the development boundary. Staff will discuss these projects and the
recommended options for City/Developer cast sharing and recovery.
