REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Michael Baker, Director Parks and Recreation
SUBJECT: Community Center Study
MEETING DATE: August 1, 2005
BACKGROUND:
Since 2002 a community center has been one of the City Council's top priorities. Due to the
ongoing growth the city is experiencing, many facility options and scenarios continue to present
themselves for consideration as possible community center facilities. At this time we are still in
the preliminary stages of investigating all possible options as they arise, related to both
remodeling existing buildings and new construction.
We have attempted to assemble information related to the necessary criteria and importance of a
community center for you to use as a basic starting point when considering the strengths and
limitations of three potential remodel sites and the possibility new construction sites.
RECOMMENDATION:
Pursue Council interests
Respectfully submitted,
