SUBJECT: Discussions of Potential Land Swap with valley Bank
MEETING A Monday, September 11, Zoo Work Session
BACKGROUND: The City owns five lots that are currently used as a parking lot
on Main Street, between 3d and 4thStreets. This property is adjacent to eight lots
owned by Valley Bank on First Avenue West that are currently used as a. bank
facility. valley Bank has expressed interest in acquiring the five lots owned by the
Ci.ty on which it wishes to construct a new bank facility. The City may be
interested in acquiring the eight lots owned by valley Bank for the purposes of
increasing parking area within the City.
There have been ongoing discussions between valley Bank and City staff regarding
a. land exchange between the parties. Staff will discuss with Council options for
structuring such an exchange and will update Council regarding the latest
discussions with staff at Valley Bank,
RECOMMENDATION: That upon receiving this update, Council provides further
direction to staff regarding the structure of a land exchange.
