SUBJECL Domestic Violence Grant

BACKGROUND, `� Violence�� conjunction with the
.domestic Violence Council approached the City of Kalispell recently about a domestic
Violence grant partnership opportunity. The grant would provide for a Domestic
Violence Emergency* Response Team DVERT that would concentrate on high -risk
domestic violence cases. The grant would pay for a detecu've'ssalmi, a compliance
officer's salmi, a domestic Violence advocate's salmi and one halff. prosecutor"s
salmi. The salary portions would be fatly funded for two years with no minimum match
required. The DVERT would be responsible for domestic violence prevention, training
investigation and follow-up of those cases that met a specific threat assessment. The city
would need to be the grant administrator and fiscal agent with the VFCL contracting for
the advocate and compliance officer positions. Noticeof grant approval would not be
received until summer of 2006. Council would need to accept the grant following its
approval,
