Amendments to Planning Department Fee Schedule
August 27, 2007 work session
BACKGROUND: Every year the Planning Department reviews planning fees to determine if
they are adequate to address costs and appropriate relative to the development community and
surrounding communities. It has also been the philosophy of the office to increase fees
gradually as inflation; construction costs and construction sales grog as opposed to significant
increases at less frequent intervals which are more difficult for the development community to
plan for.
Across the board we are proposing a 5% increase on average for preliminary and final plats and
for PUD developments. we propose to increase the subdivision and PUD per lot review fees
from $105 to $110 and to increase each base fee by $50. For example the base fee for a
preliminary plat would increase from $750 to $Soo for major subdivisions, from $350 to $400
for minor subdivisions and from $950 to $1,000 for commercial subdivisions.
All other fees including variances, zone changes, zoning text amendments and conditional use
permits are proposed to remain the same. The changes to the fee schedule are attached as
Exhibit A.
This issue is tentatively scheduled for the September 4 Council meeting, In anticipation of that
meeting, a work session with the council is set for Monday, August 27 to address any council
concerns or questions that may arise.
