RE: Ambulance Rates
The Kalispell Fire Department Ambulance rates were last adjusted May 21, 2007. since
then, we have had many cost increases in fuel, gages, and medical supplies. At the same
time, we have seen a $79,000 reduction in revenue from 2907 to 2003 due to the declining
economy and declining responses due to Evergreen ► mbulance. The Kalispell Fire
Department ambulance service currently receives approximately $90,000 per year for the
City's portion of the 3 mill county -wide EMS levy.
The City has been working with KRIVIC to provide non -emergent transport services, ideas
for ambulance rate increases, and providing affordable medical supplies to the City. Also,
the county is currently developing a comprehensive county -wide emergency medical plan.
The proposed increase would provide additional revenue and would allow the City to
recover for responses outside the city limits by increasing the loaded mileage rate.
It is nay recommendation to approve the new rate schedule as shown on the attached table
and eliminate the $200 out -of -city response fee which has not generated the anticipated
revenue.
Respectfully submitted,
