Re: Departure of Dick Brady, Public Works Superintendent
Dear Chris:
After fifteen years serving the people of Kalispell as their Public Works Superintendent, Dick
Brady has decided to take on new challenges in the private sector. His last day with the City will
be September 16`".
When Dick joined the City staff the streets were in dreadful shape and the need for competent
field supervision to coordinate the City maintenance and construction crews to gain ground on
the problem was never higher. Over the years, through glorious summers and bitter winters, Dick
showed time and again he was up to the task and earned the respect of his coworkers and his
colleagues in the private sector.
I believe few can argue that the condition of our streets and the overall level of quality of all our
Public Works services are the highest they have ever been. And, while the work to improve the
City's services is not done, I am certain that the job ahead of us will be much easier due to the
contribution by Dick Brady over the past fifteen years.
I know that you share my mixed emotions with Dick's departure. I am saddened that we will not
work together after the sixteenth, but I am happy for him in his decision and wish him well.
Please join me on behalf of all in Public Works to thank Dick for the exemplary service he has
given to the City of Kalispell for fifteen years.
Sincerely,
James C. Hansz, PR-/
Director of Public Works / City Engineer
