REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Michael Baker, Director of Parks & Recreation
SUBJECT: Lions Park
MEETING DATE: May 9, 2001
BACK GROUND: The City has been requested by the Kalispell Lions Club to
designate the City Park known as Lions Park, located on
Highway 93 South, as a "permanent' park. Mr. Wagnild has
worked closely with the Parks and Recreation Department in
an effort to improve, protect and preserve the Lions park.
The original purchase made in 1928 and has been an entrance
landmark to Kalispell since theft.
I sincerely believe if the City is to preserve this small piece of
open space for the future, an appropriate action would be to
dedicate the site as a "permanent' City
