SUBJECT: Citizenship Award

BACKGROUND: On April 30, 2001 Laura Cave found $4,500.00 in cashiers checks
in the parking lot of Smith's Food. Though some people may have been tempted to keep
the money for themselves, Laura not only contacted the police department but also
personally contacted the bank and determined the owner of the checks. She gladly
returned the checks to their rightful owner and in doing so demonstrated the highest
standards of citizenship. Laura will be presented with a citizenship award by the Chief of
Police in front of the council.
Council acknowledge the act of citizenship by Laura Cave.

ALTERNATIVES: As recommended by Council.
