SUBJECT: Tree Pruning Bids
MEETING DATE: January 8, 2001
BACK GROUND: In an attempt to complete tree pruning for the Downtown Tax
Increment District, request for bids was advertised.
Approximately 13 bid packages were requested and only 1
bid was returned. That bid was not responsive.
RECOMMENDATION: It is my recommendation to reject the single bid.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None
ALTERNATIVES: Pursue written quotes from our list of interested contractors,
for subsections of the District to be pruned. After discussing
this with several of the potential contractors, this would allow
more participation. The area and amount to be included in
the pruning would still be in the Downtown District and
would not exceed the $20,000 ceiling allowed by state laws.
