SUBJECT: Additional State/Federal Funds for Training of Stream International's Employees
MEETING DATE: February 2001
BACKGROUND: The Community Development Block Grant ED staff has awarded an additional
$50,000 of Economic Development grant funds to the City of Kalispell to be
utilized for training of Stream International's Inc. personnel at the Kalispell site.
A simple contract amendment to the $400,000 grant award will meet their criteria
for accepting these funds.
RECOMMENDATION: A resolution must be passed by City Council that will allow the City to accept the
additional grant funds and allow the City Manager to sign a contract amendment.
FISCAL EFFECTS: A total of $450,000 in CDBG ED funds will now be available to assist Stream in
their employee training efforts. The City and County are now within $50,000 of
providing the originally negotiated $4,000,000 incentive package.

RESOLUTION NO. 4600
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF ADDITIONAL MONTANA
DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS TO
PROVIDE EMPLOYEE TRAINING FOR STREAM INTERNATIONAL SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell received a Montana Department of
Commerce Community Development Block Grant to provide employee
training dollars for Stream International Services Corp.'s
Kalispell, Montana's operational site; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant ED Staff has awarded
the City of Kalispell an additional $50,000 to be used for training
personnel at Stream International, bringing the total grant amount
to $450,000; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell has the legal jurisdiction and
authority to transfer grant funds to Stream International for
employee training.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the City of Kalispell agrees to accept
the additional grant award in the amount of
$50,000 from CDBG for the purpose of training
personnel at Stream International.
SECTION II. That the City Manager is authorized to sign a
contract amendment to the original $400,000
CDBG grant award on behalf of the City of
Kalispell and to provide such other additional
information as may be required.
