BACKGROUND: On July 20, 2001 the Montana Chiefs of Police Association
(MACOP) presented the annual "Officer of the Year" award for the state of Montana to
Officer Scott Wamell of the Kalispell Police Department. Officer Warnell was cited for
his exceptional work in the department and in the community. The award is the first ever
presented by MACOP and represents nearly 500 police officers statewide.
RECOMMENDATIONS: The City Council should recognize Officer Scott Warnell
for this significant achievement.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None.
ALTERNATIVES: As recommended by Council.
