Lighting assessments are charged at 1.50 per front foot. The assessment is increased $ .50 this year to fund higher electricity. RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of Resolution 4640 establishing the assessments. FISCAL EFFECTS: The City anticipates receiving $6,479 in revenue to be used for the costs associated with Decorative Light Maintenance. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by Council. -xG Amy . Kukulski City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 4640 A RESOLUTION LEVYING AN ASSESSMENT FOR THE COST OF LIGHTING THE STREETS IN THE CITY DOWNTOWN DECORATIVE LIGHTING DISTRICT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2001-2002. WHEREAS, the assessment cost of the Downtown Decorative Lighting District for the fiscal year 2001-2002 is estimated to be $6,479.00, and WHEREAS, at a public hearing held on the 16th day of July, 2001, the City Council did consider all objections made to said estimate and to the basis of levy and assessment for payment for said cost. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA: SECTION I. That a tax be levied for the assessment cost, or $6,479.00, be in the amounts set opposite the description of each lot or parcel of land, as shown by the special assessment lists on file in the office of the City Finance Director. SECTION II. The amount of said tax shall be levied proportionately on a front foot basis in the amount of $1.50 per front foot of lot or parcel of land within the district except public streets or rights of way.
