SUBJECT: Authorization to Receive Bids for Two Used Solid Waste Trucks
MEETING DATE: April 2, 2001
BACKGROUND: Over the past two budget years the Public Works Department has purchased
two side -arm packer solid waste trucks. The most recent purchase was delivered on March 22°a
With the addition of these new machines to the fleet we are able to dispose of two older trucks in
the fleet. We recommend disposal of unit 4322, a 1981 International with approximately 140,600
miles, and unit #323, a 1990 White/GMC Volvo with approximately 114000 miles. The
Department requests authorization to dispose of these trucks by sealed bid.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize solicitation of sealed bids to sell two solid waste trucks.
FISCAL IMPACT: Unknown amount of revenue to the Solid Waste enterprise fund.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Council
