SUBJECT Promotion of Kevin Hadley to Lieutenant
MEETING DATE 10/7/2002
BACKGROUND: Kevin Hadley joined the Kalispell Fire Department on July 8, 1992..He has
been promoted to Lieutenant, filling the position vacated by the promotion of Byron Guy. Kevin is
very respected by his peers and possesses a natural leadership that is a benefit for the department both
on the fireground and in the station.
RECOMMENDATIONS: I am recommending that the Council recognize Lieutenant Kevin Hadley,
and congratulate him on his successful promotion.

SUBJECT Promotion of Byron Guy to Captain
MEETING DATE 10/7/2002
BACKGROUND: Byron Guyjoined the Kalispell Fire Department on. September 3rd, 1986. He
has been promoted to Captain, filling the position vacated by the retirement of Gary Havens. Byron is
also president of International Association of Firefighters Local 547, and his leadership is very
respected throughout the department. Byron served as our EMS Coordinator for several years and
represents the Kalispell. Fire Department's ambulance service throughout the community. He was
instrumental in bringing Advanced Life Support to the lower Flathead Valley when the Kalispell Fire
Department trained their personnel to the paramedic level in 1996.
RECOMMENDATIONS: I am recommending that the Council recognize Captain Byron Guy, and
congratulate him on his successful promotion.
