Kevin is very respected by his peers and possesses a natural leadership that is a benefit for the department both on the fireground and in the station. September 3rd, 1986. He has been promoted to Captain, filling the position vacated by the retirement of Gary Havens. Byron is also president of International Association of Firefighters Local 547, and his leadership is very respected throughout the department. Byron served as our EMS Coordinator for several years and represents the Kalispell. Fire Department's ambulance service throughout the community. He was instrumental in bringing Advanced Life Support to the lower Flathead Valley when the Kalispell Fire Department trained their personnel to the paramedic level in 1996.
